Taken on a visit to Chiltern Railways’ Aylesbury Maintenance Depot on 8th February 2017.
1. Class 165/0 turbo unit 165018 outside the depot.
2, 3. 165038 and 165033 receiving attention.
4. 165033, 038 and 004.
5. Engine raft from a Class 168 Clubman coach with radiators and intercooler nearest.
6. Engine raft with the hydraulic transmission nearest. The turbo charger can be seen on the right.
7, 8. Refurbished Class 165 bogie. 165004 did not require it.
9. Class 168 Clubman unit 168214 getting a bit of a cleanup at the other end.
10. Class 168 leading bogie showing the tripcock beam for the Metropolitan Line section.
11. Class 168 no. 168111. The other end is having its wheels turned on the wheel lathe.
12. Ruston & Hornsby 0-6-0DH shunter Leslie.
13, 14. Class 121 single car (“bubble car”) no. 121020.
15. (mostly) refurbished wheelsets and a bogie. The two sets at the far end with inboard vented brake discs are for a Class 82
driving van trailer (DVT) used on locomotive hauled push-pull sets.
16. The wheel lathe.
